Updated dates for your diary!

We are in the process of getting next season's dates sorted for the XC league.

Next year's Wokingham Half is on February 8, Bramley is on February 15, the Grizzly is on March 8 and Cranleigh is on March 29.

Currently therefore there are no clashes between those 4 events and the 8 cross country events.  We will do our utmost to keep it this way so that all those 12 events can be built into our 2009 London Marathon training.

Julian Farrell 10k - 5 October 2008

You can download an entry form here.

The JF10k together with the Beachy Head Marathon are the last 2 remaining events in this year's club championship.

Torq In Your Sleep

For those keen mountain bikers amongst us, the Gorrick Mountain Biking Club (who build and maintain the trails we often use at The Lookout) are organising a 12 hour enduro event near Yately on the 6th September, sponsored by Torq Fitness.

"The course designed by Jon Lucas and Paul Howard is taking shape - it will be approximately 7 miles in length and is a 'typical Gorrick course', i.e. flowing with sinuous singletrack through pine forest and a few technical challenges interspersed by short fireroads to aid recovery and refuelling. So we can assure you there is no riding round grassy fields of mud!"

Solos, pairs or teams (3 or 4) can enter. The race is from 12 noon until midnight (so powerful offroad lights needed from 8PM). More details here.

Saving Pennies

Seems that saving money is getting more and more important - don't forget when you're looking for new gear that there are local shops who will give you a discount when you produce your BFR membership card.
